Balnarring Preschool

Balnarring Preschool has adopted a Learning and Living with Nature philosophy. Our philosophy challenges educators where possible to incorporate nature into all aspects of the program. We regularly visit offsite wild spaces with groups of children. We go to the bush, visit Parks Victoria land, and community wetlands.  Balnarring is a seaside town on the Mornington Peninsula and the beach is central to community life.
So we also regularly take groups of children to the beach.

As our nature philosophy and practices developed we noted that Indigenous people taught their children on the land. We recognise the Boon Wurrung people as the traditional owners of the country we work on.  Balnarring Preschool educators are developing our own understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing so as to better include Indigenous perspectives each week in our programs.
